We are offering an internship for a
communication major at ECSU, whose main task
will be to create a video of WAIM's many
programs, events and activities between
September and December.
This video will be about 15 minutes in length
when edited and will be designed for use at
presentations given by WAIM staff, board,
delegates and volunteers. It will accompany
our narratives and will lend visual impact to
what we say.
This project may not fill an entire 120 hour
internship. In that case, we will ask the
intern to work with us during our very busy
fall season to do the publicity and outreach
for one or more of our seasonal programs. This
may be the Adopt-a-Family program that matches
donor and recipient families for the holidays,
the Walk-for-Warmth that launches our fuel
assistance season, or other holiday programs
that benefit the low income community in and
around Willimantic.
WAIM is a program that redistributes clothing,
household goods and furniture to the low
income community. We also offer fuel
assistance and a wide variety of seasonal
programs, fundraisers and outreach activities
designed to assist people make a good life for
themselves. Our factory site, our many special
programs and fundraising activities make
fascinating raw material for a narrated video.
